The task: An alliance of leading German NGOs shaped an initiative against local coal combustion. As if creating one visual appearance that fitted all wasn´t challenging enough. We were even more excited to have triggered the perfect twist from negative to positive campaigning – by taking up the popular idiom “In Hamburg sagt man Tschüss”.

TSCHÜSS KOHLE developed into a highly successful campaign, designed to raise local patriotism in Hamburg, engaging people to stand up for the coal exit and for climate change. The initiative quickly made it to become talk of the town and into the news. And … HELLO?! … raising 22.000 instead of the aspired 10.000 signatures is a pretty good number. Thank you, Hamburg.
